Governor Brownback, We ask of you today, that in light of the situation in Moore, Oklahoma, that laws be passed that make it mandatory for all schools,pre-schools and daycares in Kansas to have storm shelters in place. Let us put our tax dollars to use for the safety of our children, and do not let us be lenient in our definition of the word 'shelter'. These should be an underground shelter, built to withstand tornado strength winds. Sheltering our children in hallways in a crouched position with their hands over their heads is NOT sufficient shelter.

Seeing this kind of movement really blows my mind because I remember staring at the screen when there were maybe three people signed on. It feels like people actually want safety for these kids just as much as I do and I am honestly just floored by how much momentum we have built up since I first started typing this out in a panic.

Tax dollars should be spent on this before anything else. Safety first.

My kids go to school in a building that is mostly glass. It keeps me up at night. Please get this done.
