A storm shelter is needed in Leeds, Alabama. Based on an article by WBRC, the following areas surrounding Leeds offer at least one storm shelter for their community:
Vandiver
Vincent
Pell City
Margaret
Odenville
Moody
With the population of Leeds reaching 12,000+ members (2023) we feel that at minimum, one community shelter is needed for the citizens use in emergency situations.
"Community shelters are designed to protect the occupants from storm-related hazards. They are typically not built for prolonged comfort, and are limited in the amount of people they can house."

There is absolutely no excuse for our city not having a storm shelter for our citizens who so desperately need a "safe place" during extreme events.
