I just flew home to Massachusetts from Virginia on US Air and had to leave my board behind because the fee was $200 each way. My plane ticket was $150, so essentially it would have cost less to but an extra plane ticket and sit next to my board on the way home

I don't mind paying my fair share for the extra size / weight of my board bag. Please settle in on a better pricing model (weight x length x multiplier) to ensure surfers aren't gouged on "per board" charges that have no bearing on the cost of having them on the flight.

I only fly with a backpack and a Santa Monica surf case. Yet I either have to pay $150.00 per board or my case has to fly "cargo" to another country doubling my fees even more.
If that's the case then folders should be charged per golf club. Skiers should be charged per ski and pole. A golf bag weighs more than my case why am I discriminated?
Delta told me one time it was $75.00 per case. I called three times to confirm because we all know how crooked Delta is. I get to the airport an hour and half from home and sure enough it's $180.00 each way. I asked when did it change? They said two years ago. I said "last night I confirmed 3 different times that it was $75.00" their excuse... "Oh well our computers haven't been updated yet" really? Cuz ya just looked it up and gave me a price what computer were the people on the phone looking at? Then she says just pay now and when you get back you can get a refund. After my trip I called to get a refund and told refund for what? If you didn't want to pay you should have sent your boards home from the airport.
Delta is run by Nazis. Surf Nazis. All airlines support Nazis that only charge surfers crazy fees and let everyone else ride for free.

China Airlines is the latest gouger. $1088 for a ticket to Indonesia. then $150 each for 3 boards each way. That is $900 in board fees. What happened to customer service. Have us sign a release form an be done with it. Never again. Hello Singapore

as a Professional BigWaveWorldTour surfer, recent college graduate in student loan debt, and blue collar laborer I fully endorse this petition because I have fell victim to board bag fees so brutal I struggled to pay for FOOD on trips. time to end financial discrimination against surfers

I live in Hawaii where the only airline from island to island is Hawaiian Air. They will charge you per board and open your board bag and count to see how many boards. They sucks and they know we have know choice but to fly them out of Hawaii

I make several trips a year for the main purpose of surfing. I now choose to fly with the handful of airlines who don't charge exorbitant fees for surfboards whenever possible. I know that I am not alone. Reducing, or even better, eliminating surfboard fees would very likely benefit the airlines financially in increased revenue from surfers like myself who would start flying on said airlines. I truly hope that these airlines who charge for carrying surfboards will realize this and make a good business decision, as well as the ethical one, and stop charging these ridiculous fees.

Golf bags (with clubs) tend be allowed to be checked onto flights for free. Surfers along with their surfboard bags should be treated the same!

Please stop charging me ridiculous fees that can be as much as an extra passenger for my surf board!
