Stop Unaware Abortions
An estimated
1,945,800
newly conceived babies are aborted each year in
the US unknown to their mothers. Please sign
this petition to put a stop to unaware abortions.
The Pill, one of the most common forms of contraceptives, is used by 13.8 million American women who for the most part have no idea that it can cause abortion for their children. Many of these women are pro-lifers who would never use the Pill if they knew this information.
Both the mini pill and the combination pill have an abortive mechanism. Many of the consumers, have no intention of aborting their children; they are simply unaware.
Here's what actually happens.
The combination pill is made of artificial estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen builds up mucus which stops conception
90% of the time.
So what happens the other 10% of the time?
Conception happens. The progesterone comes into play and abortion takes place.
The Physicians Desk Reference (PDR) is the most often used
refrence for physicians on every benefit, risk and effect of every
legal medical product on the market. The PDR gives this information in the reference. Combination oral contraceptives act by suppression of gonadotropins. Although the primary mechanism of this action is inhibition of ovulation, other alterations include changes in the endometrium which reduce the likelihood of implantation."
The endometrium is the lining of the womb. These changes the PDR talks about consist of the progesterone thinning out the endometrium and causing it to shrivel up.
When new life is implanted in the womb the harsh conditions
cause the baby to die due to progestin before the mother even knows shes pregnant.
Implantation happens six days after conception. For those who believe life begins at the moment of conception, the Pill would be considered abortive.
There is a 10%possibility of progesterone caused abortion with the combination pill and an even bigger chance with the mini pill. For, the mini Pill is progestin based. If ovulation is not inhibited, the progestin in the mini pill aborts every new little life it can find.
Typically, doctors do not give the consumers this information when they prescribe it. The insert packaged with the Birth Control Pill, says near the end to consult a doctor or the PDR for more information, but it rarely says anything about the Pills abortive mechanism.
Women should be given the information to make an informed choice about these contraceptives. The first source should be from their doctors when prescribed. If you care please sign this petition asking doctors to fully inform women before prescribing
that the Pill can be abortive.
