The Jain Society of Toronto located at 48 Rosemeade Avenue in Etobicoke has agreed to lease part of their property to Rogers Mobility. Rogers will build a cell phone tower in the north west corner of the temple's lot.  In return for a monthly rent, the residents of the neighbourhood around the temple will now be subjected to elevated levels of radiation. Even at the low levels of radiation emitted by a cell phone tower, there is a real risk of increased incidents of brain tumors, cancer, depression, miscarriage, Alzheimer's disease and numerous other serious illnesses. Children are at the greatest risk, due to their thinner skulls and rapid growth. This is a residential neighbourhood with many young families as well as seven elementary schools and two high schools nearby. The residents have not been given any say in the matter and urgently request your support to block the cell tower at 48 Rosemeade Ave.

My kids play in that area every day. Rogers needs to find a better spot that isnt surrounded by homes and schools.
