Not enough pros vs. the cons. And I'm sure the new subdivision being built on W. Strickland will have difficulties selling homes

Stop the quarry, we already have a road project going on for 92 to get rid of truck traffic in the downtown corrider, why allow a quarry in to bring in even more truck traffic, kind of defeats the purpose of the new roadway project. Why do we even need another quarry in Douglas County anyway. Seems there would be other places not near downtown or residential areas that one can be put if there is a need for one.

Please vote no on the rock quarry. We want Douglasville to be a city where people want to be proud of and bring in businesses that our citizens can go to and be proud of, I know a rock quarry is not one that anyone can proudly speak about and call a neighbor.

This quarry will absolutely devastate the wonderful "Hamrick Lake" community. The so-called experts who testified that nobody living near a quarry can hear or feel the blasts, due to technology improvements, are either badly mistaken or are blatantly lying. Everyone here can hear and feel them. We are 1,900 feet from the current quarry and will be about the same from the new one. I am confident that those in favor of the quarry DO NOT LIVE NEAR ONE!!

I live at 8651 Bowden st, an I can't imagine that the city of Douglasville would even want another quarry here. I have breathing problems already & putting more dust in the air would definitely not help matters, not to mention people's house foundations would crack from the blasting, more wildlife being forced out.
Seems like there would be more concrete trucks, more dump trucks coming in & out of the city. They should have the quarry somewhere else besides in the city. As i drive through Douglasville, i can't help but see the signs that state, " keep Douglasville beautiful ", don't see where another quarry would be beneficial for the city of Douglasville.

There is no need for another rock quarry. We have our fair share of them already. It will bring to it road damage from heavy trucks and unsafe roadways for their travel
