Stop The Newmachar Quarry

This quarry can not be permitted. Road safety, damage to roads from HGV's, Noise and health issues. Why do quarries need to be positioned near built up areas?

The roads and infrastructure around this site is not suitable for HGV's and would increase the flow of traffic .

Local road are not suitable for these type and volume of trucks.

I shall also be writing to our local council to put in my opposition to having this quarry here in Newmacher. Also concerned about the impact on farming in the area, Strawberry Farm in Potterton, Rape Seeds grown all around this area. Roads are already showing signs of decay at the edges.

why dig up another beautiful spot

Concerned about the additional traffic especially hg vehicles in the area on unsuitable roads.

Concerned re noise and air pollution, wildlife and increase in traffic, noise and pollution from that. And general safety of road users.

I am very concerned about road safety as a result of this proposed quarry. The roads in this area are in no way suitable for so much HGV traffic. Noise, dust and other environmental impacts are also a major concern. This quarry must be stopped.

Absolutely no to a massive quarry in Newmachar, we’ve had enough disruption with the bypass and the impact on the environment

Traffic already bad

Do not need any more heavy traffic and noise going through Kingseat and Newmachar and especially down Hillbrae Way. Think of the farmers, they don't need this disrupting them and think of the welfare of the animals. The road intended for use is totally unsuitable for heavy lorries. I would suggest to JKR Contractors to look somewhere else.

That road is not fit for heavy lorries, and the nice walk along the old railway line which is used by lots of people will not be very pleasant with dust and lorries going past all the time

Roads not fit for this

I was absolutely astonished and shocked to learn that JKR Contractors are proposing to Decimate the local area, right on my door step, I have young grandchildren that come to visit us and use the road when we go cycling, this will not be possible if this destruction gets the go ahead, one of my grandchildren is disabled and is a huge benefit to her when she comes out from the city for the peace and quiet which will no longer be available due to the noise and the dust that will be generated for a large construction companies growing profits. its called Beauty hill for a reason.
