Stop the quarry

Aside from the environmental impact (which in my opinion should be at the centre of all decisions from this point forward), the logistics of increased HGV usage on rural, unclassified roads needs serious consideration. There are already many occasions when HGV’s fail to negotiate the small (and historically significant) bridge that spans the cycle pathway often causing traffic issues. That wee bridge is all that links traffic to Newmachar and access beyond so it needs protecting. Why is it that one persons desire should run rough shot over what is clearly a better outcome for the many?

The roads around this area is not suitable for heavy traffic like this.

A disgrace to churn up such a lovely part of the countryside.

Following the AWPR construction we saw the damage to the local roads around Newmachar and Kingseat by tipper trucks. The AWPR construction was only temporary and the roads are still being repaired causing massive inconvenience. To suggest creating a quarry and permanent traffic without major upgrade of the road infrastructure would be madness and should be stopped on that basis alone.

Why not invest in expanding an existing quarry that has not been fully mined rather than further destroying our countryside. There has been significant housing development around the area in recent years and to destroy even more with s massive mine is irresponsible.

Huge concerns around the traffic and environmental impact for my local area

My concerns are around the fact Beauty Hill has already been subject to significant development which had a hugely detrimental impact on the Wildlife because of the felling of a 70 year old forest, wildlife, including rare butterfly, red squirrels and birds habitats were wiped out and the few survived displaced to narrower strip...Now under threat by this quarry. The prep work has already disturbed a badger set.

The preparatory work done so far indicates that the developers don't worry about environmental impact or road safety. It's important that their proposal shouldn't be approved.

Let's do what we can to stop this quarry, this nightmare, this monstrosity!

If this application for the needless industrialization of our countryside and its associated abuse of local people and their children is allowed, we are all the more vulnerable, wherever we live.

I don’t want a quarry near Newmachar village and my home and polluting our beautiful countryside.

Stop the newmachar quarry!!

I moved to this village because I wanted calm and peace and quiet for personal reasons. A quarry would ruin that. But even more than my own reasons for wanting to stop it, are the environmental reasons. The people who want this quarry are trying to greenwash their disgusting attempt to turn our beautiful and quiet village into a noisy, dusty, environmentally damaging hell hole

This is just an unnecessary blight on the countryside and will be a nightmare with traffic, noise, dust and all the health risks that go along with this. We should not have to put up with this. I do not know what this stone is intended for but in this day and age alternatives using recycled materials should be considered.

I do not want a quarry near to the Village of Newmachar, my home!

This is horrible how they would destroy nature and endanger the lives of many animals all for the sake of what, bad pollution and massive lorries on tight roads. This needs shut down.

I’ll miss seeing all the wild life around here and I’d be angry to see them take there homes away. I really would like to see this land !! don’t know why the world thinks to do such silly things .
