On October 14, 2008, Canadians re-elected the Conservative Party of Canada.
The opposition parties now want to topple the duly elected Government, without even giving it a chance to govern under its current mandate.
This course of action, while technically legal under the Constitution, clearly undermines the will of the people. In effect, it amounts to a coup d'état.
We the undersigned oppose these actions and ask Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, to reject the proposal for a coalition. We the people of Canada have already chosen the government we want, and our will should be respected.
Signed,
I honestly never thought this would turn into such a whirlwind because it all feels so wrong to watch these parties ignore the election results while sitting in my living room. People keep sending me messages about how worried they are that the system is breaking down right in front of us and I am trying my best to keep track of every single concern.
December 2, 2008
I really thought this might just be a small thing but the speed people are finding this is honestly dizzying. It feels like everyone is finally waking up to how wrong this feels because who decided a coalition was what we asked for anyway.

They had their chance at the polls and they lost. Stop trying to steal the election through the back door.

If the opposition wants to run the country then they should have won more seats. Quit playing games with our stability.
