Senator Harry Reid announced on December 19, 2009 that he has bought off enough votes to pass the biggest expansion of government in our nation's history, despite the overwhelming opposition of the American people.
For the last eight months, We the People have made our position unmistakeably clear by sending millions of phone calls, emails, and faxes, leading hundreds of protests at your Town Halls around the country, attending street demonstrations, and participating in the largest protest in American history on September 12, 2009. Our actions should have demonstrated to you that We the People will not accept the unprecedented intrusion into our lives the health care "reform" bills in Congress represent.  We the People will not tolerate the further destruction of our economy and the finest health care system in the world with this trillion-plus-dollar socialized medicine boondoggle, which will irreparably harm the ability of our children, grandchildren, and future generations to get affordable and high quality healthcare.
Yet, despite our clear opposition, you have decided to blatantly ignore the American citizens who elected you to serve them.
In signing this petition, We the People pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to removing any member of the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States who votes in favor of combined legislation which supports a government takeover of medicine. We also pledge to dedicate ourselves to stopping this destruction of our freedoms. By choosing to ignore our voices now, you will be forced to recognize our power at the ballot box.

Signed,
The American People

I honestly cannot believe how fast my laptop is pinging with these notifications because I really just thought this would stay between me and a few friends. It is getting kind of overwhelming to track all the different perspectives coming into my inbox but I am trying to read as many as I can while I juggle the actual work of keeping this thing moving forward.

The numbers are just flying by and I cannot believe how fast this is moving so please just get the link out to your people right now because hitting that first thousand mark is all I can think about while I sit here refreshing the page. We really need to keep this momentum going before the morning news cycles start up again or else we might just lose all this incredible energy we built tonight.

Nothing is free. Someone pays for it and it ends up being us.

My husband works hard for his insurance. Why should tax dollars pay for everyone else?

Already had enough of the price hikes. This will make it way worse for the middle class.
