Dear World,

I am writing to you out of desperation.

Trump, the new "Leader of the Free World" believes that reducing or removing restrictions on green house gases and reinvesting in coal based energy is a good idea.

Maybe, on the extremely short term, in the perspective of job creation, it could be.

However, on the long term, when Trump and his cohort of supporters (mostly middle aged) will be dead or dying and, we will have to live with the consequences of his actions.

Do we really want to accelerate the already rapid melting of the ice caps and displace billions of people from their homes? Do we really want a world where freshwater is so seldom that we will have to fight for it? Do we really want a world where most of the nature we know today will have disappeared?

How it is possible that people could vote for a man that will put to risk their children and their children's children is beyond me. How is it possible that as a society we have become so selfish? I do not know.

On one hand, I do not wish to alienate any Trump supporter. If so many of you have voted for him, then he must have had some ideas that you feel were the solution to your issues.

On the other hand, I wish that we would all unite under the banner of climate change so that we don't loose everything we have and are able to have children and/or nurture them in an environment survivable by mankind.
