I saw that Mr.Izumi has denied any of this and doesn't understand why this has been set up. To me that shows he's scared of his injustices being brought to light. He afraid of losing his seat of power as the history head, he scared that other teachers will learn of his violence and how he makes students scared to be in his classroom. Afraid that others will learn about his unjust yelling and punishment. I stand here with my brothers and sister to bring this man to justice and make the classroom safe again Stay safe my fellow peers

Mr.Izumi has been oppressive towards students and it is time for students to get the freedom they deserve. We cannot stand by and watch this go on any longer. We Need Change!

If you did everything you could to help these students then how come many of your female students broke down in tears? How come so many students are failing your course for pointless reasons? How come many of your students are afraid of you?? Ever considered that? I don't think so, also you can bring this to the principal. However this petition helps give a voice to the students who feel unsafe and scared.. So I don't see a problem in trying to speak your mind from your fear. If you think that's a problem please pull out the "rights of a citizen" and tell us what's wrong with trying to feel safe.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. -Barack Obama Change is what we seek, and change is what we deserve. If i can recall a single useful bit of information i've learned while being in Mr Izumi’s class, is that teamwork is key in order to change the world. Whether it’s winning wars or helping social justice issues, only with the help of others may you succeed. Gordon Izumi in my opinion is an extremely active teacher and always brings a “lively mood”... to any class. But with all his years of teaching may only fuel his ignorance and jeopardizes the success of his students. Change needs to happen it being not assigning Zeros for missing a test day, or not nit picking reasons to send students to the office. We live in an era of freedom of expression where anyone, anywhere can express his/her opinion. But when one’s action specifically one in position of authority neglects to provide proper assistants to further benefit his/her students will only suffer and damage the futures children to be taught by him/her.

A teacher like this should not be teaching at a school, he has horrible mood swings that make him occasionally violent. Also he scares students. Is that really what learning is about?? It makes me so mad that he gets away with things so easily. He calls himself responsible and a good role model; but what kind of "good" role model threatens students for doing the smallest things, loses the projects of students and gets up to your face to yell at you? Some people from his class are sent to the office for the simplest things. For example one time I was in his class and he started yelling at a student who was unable to copy down a chart when they clearly sat way too far. First off, if they got up they'd get yelled at by him so it made sense why they might've decided to wait until they're able to get a good look of the board so they can do the assignment properly. Instead, they were sent to the office which is just a POINTLESS tactic. This teacher needs to calm down. He walks into class angry all the time or scarily "happy". Also what I've noticed is he goes by favourites so much, when a student he doesn't care about or dislikes doesn't do their homework or a question they get a full on lecture meanwhile his favourite students get a "oh it's okay, just do it tomorrow" how am I expected to not feel uncomfortable? This is not the way teaching works at all. I'm glad a student started this petition, he doesn't deserve to be "history head" when he makes students uncomfortable and scared.

Know that not all students are behind this petition. A great deal think you are a great teacher no matter what shortcomings this petition tries to point out. I know many who are strongly against this

I know not of this man is or of his atrocities against the people of Canada. What may forever elude me is the crimes he has committed to earn the hatred of so many of my peers. One thing is for certain: I trust my friends and my fellow students. I will stand by their decisions and believe wholeheartedly that to spark a revolution of this size would require truly horrendous acts of betrayal against those he has sworn to aid in their academic journeys through the treacherous realm that is high school. In the name of creating safe learning environments for the aspiring students of Ontario, I hereby sign this petition in the hope that my friends may soon be freed of the tyrannical rule of Mr. Izumi and that further measure will be put in place to protect the educational rights of the young teens of tomorrow. Today will forever be remembered as the day that this man's oppression and hatred towards the most vulnerable of society, his loyal and trusted students, was forever concluded. Know that now was the time that we did not fear the power of the system; The time when the weakened souls of our world dared to take a stand against injustice and fight back inequality. No matter what happens, may these hours forever leave their mark in our hearts. May we be the light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in a sea of despair. May we find victory in the strength of our unity. May our ability to press a button and write words on a screen bring us freedom. Godspeed, my brothers and my sisters.

Petitions allow students to see they are not alone. When people feel isolated, they feel weak and they submit. When people see that others are angry enough to spend time collecting signatures, they know they are not alone, and they feel empowered to stand up. And that's only the beginning. I don't believe a punishment is in order for such peaceful protest.
