As an avid reader of Indian writing in English, especially the works of Roy, and with 5 decades of political activism here in the UK, in Canada and in Central Africa, it is important to me at almost the same age as Arundhati Roy to begin to redouble my support for literary freedom of speech, and to support people I so admire for their indignation, wild spiritedness(me too) and campaign courage.

Freedom of speech is an inalienable human right
It is intellectual thuggery to persecute this talented lady I admire her before the myopia and the lies that puppets to be justice ..

India will be seen as a backward, intolerant country of non-democratic bigots if this case is not immediately dismissed - no good for business or international relations.

As a person of Indian origin I want to join the International condemnation of the persecution of the courageous Arundhati Roy.
The apologists of the persecutors should realize the World is watching this case. I appeal to Indians to challenge the persecution of Ms Roy.

All my support to the great writer Arhundati Roy, whose "crime" is to tell the great humanitarian injustice of an oppressed society of which a huge majority of people live in misery, under a feudal regime, without any right to the minimum systems social protection and under continuous clashes encouraged and / or silenced by those in power. Freedom of expression and of the press is recognized in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
