Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has proposed legislation that would collect what he calls, "shale gas drilling impact fees". As expected, fellow politicians within the state are supporting this new tax as it would mean more money coming into local and state coffers to the tune of $200 million dollars. Industry leaders apparently are not putting forth any opposition to the plan, as they will pass on this added cost to the consumers. The instruments to make drilling companies repair any damage they cause have been in place for decades. This is just one more tax on the consumer and we have to say enough is enough.
