Prevent the stoppage of school bus services to children within 2 miles of schools in South Lanarkshire

From Newton to Trinity High School my children will have to walk 10 minutes to the train station, get a train to Cambuslang and then walk a further 15 minutes in all weathers. They will also have to leave home early and get home late due to train times. This is not acceptable. I can understand the council having to cut their travel budget but this can be done by cutting the number of taxis South Lanarkshire council use to take children to school every day. The school bus to secondary schools must stay for the safety of all our children.

Keep the school buses but charge something for the weekly pass I understand but keep children safe at all times I'm sure parents and the council can come to some arrangement I know I would pay something towards my child fare for the service

i think the walk from drumsagard to Cathkin using main roads is far to long for children, some aged 11 and would add 2 hours on to their day, causing exhaustion and lack of concentration.

It is completely u safe to ask our children to walk 3 miles to school and 3 miles back. Public transport is busy at peak times of the day never mind adding several hundred children to the problem. I cannot take my child to school as I have a younger child also needing to be taken to primary school.
As many others have rightly pointed out, a 3 mile walk potentially in adverse weather is hardly a reasonable way to start a school day. This proposal adversely affects children's education. You seriously cannot expect this to get anything other than a hugely negative response.

cannot beleive that SLC are putting profit before the saftey of our children, is there another offer on the table ? perhaps subsidised buses, is there goingvto be an increase in public transport? what aboutbthe conjestion outside the school with multiple people dropping off kids ! need i go on !!!!!!
