This is completely unacceptable, children are entitled to an education and it is our responsibility, as council tax payers, to ensure that they arrive there safely. No child should be forced to walk that distance, potentially alone on dark winter mornings. I bought this house with the understanding that our children had bus access to the local high school. These plans must not go ahead.

in this day and age children should be eligible for transport to and from school with no question. The amount f children abducted and other things these days should make it of utmost importance to get kids to school in dark mornings and returning home in the dark evenings. It is a disgrace this should be considered to not allow kids on buses ear Nick high should never have been closed in the first place with all the new houses popping up in the hillhouse area. Drug addicts get help so come on, get the priorities right here.
I think it is a disgrace that this is even being considered. For example wihen Earnifk High was knocked down, the council made a commitment to offer buses. If they change that they are going back on their promise. Scandalous!

This is ridiculous. They closed an amazing school near me to amalgamate it with another over 2 miles away and now they will expect the kids to walk or the parents to pay. NOT good enough for our kids.

We need to serve local kids and keep them safe going to school.There should be a larger mile radius considering the catchment areas .
