Having four horns fo off all throughout the night right by my house. That is what's going to cause accidents. Depriving residents of sleep who then have to get up for work and try and drive.

Homeowner- can't sleep with windows open in summer. Don't live close to the tracks- but still get woken up by trains all night.

Maybe they should use bright lights to warn stupid people at rail crossings. Also, make use of the Marconi Wireless (radio) to signal to other rail workers.

My family and I recently moved to Manteca and we like the city but we were unpleasantly surprised our first night here due to the loudest and longest train horn we have ever heard and we are not that close to the railroad crossings (1/2 mile)
I really hope we can create a quiet zone at least during the night. It will greatly improve Manteca's quality of life.

We need the horns to stop! We have rail crossing arms and lights with noise, so there is no need to blow the horn!

Manteca resident for 5 years and the train still keeps me up at night. Let’s all work together to make Manteca a QZ!

More houses are going up on the east side of the tracks near Louise and Airport Rd intersection. The developer fees that the city will receive from the developers of the subdivision should be ample to provide whatever extra safety upgrades are necessary at the cossings in order to nullify any safety issues that could arise from a quiet zone.

I thought the train horns were bad enough near Woodward Park...but we just moved across town off Louise and my god! It’s 2:30 am and I’m online researching this topic if that’s any indication how terrible the train is. A train has blasted its horn coming through here 6 times tonight, this is ridiculous! I cannot believe the City of Manteca has allowed its residents to deal with this. Kids are awake, dogs are awake, cats are awake...

The amount the trains blow their horns is ridiculous, it honks every 5 seconds as it passes. Every crossing Iv'e seen in Manteca has gates. I work at the big winery off 99 and I'm considering moving out of town and commuting in, just so I can get some sleep. It kills me during harvest. I...just...want..to ..sleeep!!!

I am MORE than happy to sign this petition. Since moving to Manteca I been unable to get a full nights sleep. To me the train horn seems excessive, especially in the we hours of the morning.

The trains run at all hours of the night and blare their horns, making it difficult to sleep.

I moved here 3 years ago knowing the train tracks were near by but since I lived near a train track before figured it would be ok. The train mostly passes late at night and seems to honk multiple times almost to wake people up. It is unessassary to honk like that and keep people awake at night.
