Every school day 7,000 teenagers become high school dropouts Every school day 1,000 teenagers learn from CHOICES why they should stay in school With more than 26% of students failing to graduate on time each year in the U.S. we face a growing national crisis. Based on current reports from the National Center for Education Statistics the median income of high school dropouts is 40% lower than those who complete high school. Dropouts are more likely to be unemployed. They tend to be in worse health and they make up a disproportionately higher percent of the nation's prison and death row inmates. These outcomes affect not only them but also all of us when we consider the high social costs and our nation’s loss of productivity and economic vitality. Highschool dropouts really don't realize how many things they are throwning away. For an example-they will not receive a good job, they will most likely get involved in crime, they will be looked down upon, once they dropout..there's no turning back, and by signing this-they will not be able to get their drivers license. There is really no way to keep students in school. It is the students choice, but maybe if they had a privelge away, they would think twice. One new and simple way to help the school systems with their problems of dropouts is to make it that you have to graduate from highschool in order to get your drivers license.
