I know of so many people that have fallen in the trap. These adverts are so dangerous and what I dislike the most is you have well known celebrities promoting and condoning them which make it appear ok but it is not.

Just sat watching the Tele and yet another gambling advert flashing before my very eyes. It breaks my heart to see so many. My 22 year old son works so hard for his money, he has blew thousands and got nothing to show for it only despair !. Can't stand it .

"It matters more if there is money on it? "No it doesn't. Make it stop. We are supposed to be encouraging saving and being sensible. I have had enough of gambling. It has cost me dearly. The betting companies make enough profits without advertising with deals to lure more and more weak minded gamblers to spend more than they can afford. Getting these companies to say "Bet Responsibly" or "Stop when it stops being fun" is purely a gesture, and does no good at all!

I am the partner of a gambler who has constantly stolen from me in his desperation to try to win back the money he had lost, my money direct from my bank account, my grandma & great grandmas wedding rings, my wedding ring & engagement ring, my grandmas watch. All my sentimental items gone for nothing. I'm now on a debt management plan which I wouldn't have needed if it wasn't for his addiction. He won't seek help because his problems run deeper than just gambling & he won't share that with anyone but me. Every time he just thinks he's getting a hold of it he gets stressed & slips back into gambling & all the lies that come with it. Every Saturday night trying to watch a film together we're bombarded with exciting sexualised adverts that torment him, & physically & mentally torture me. It is an outrage that this is allowed. I remember I had my first bet after watching a sponsored video gambling Ad from Facebook. It came to a point where I won 2.1M pesos but due to the gambling addiction, I kept playing until I lost it all including my 300k savings. It's painful to see that all of your hard earned money for several years is gone an instant. I'm now 2 months clean from gambling and trying to start over. If a person is trying to stop gambling the ads are a constant reminder. It just makes it too hard. Addictions are hard enough to stop without the constant calling on you.
