Dear Coalition MP,

I’m sending you this email because I want you to think about what your Government’s proposed cutbacks to Police Death & Disability protections would mean to NSW Police Officers.

Police are the ones who run into a situation when everyone else is running away. They put themselves in the firing line and often get beaten, punched, stabbed, threatened, verbally abused, stalked, choked and shot at for their efforts.  Officers also see some brutal things – things they will never be able to erase from their memories no matter how hard they try.

These officers put their lives on the line every day to keep the community safe.  That’s why Police Officers and their families need a Death & Disability Scheme that offers real protection should the worst happen.

I urge you to rethink the Coalition's policy on protecting police.
