This is a petition to the Press Complaints Commission(PCC) to have The Sun newspaper refrain from using the word Wacko Jacko or Jacko in the article which pertain to Michael Jackson. Michael himself expressed the fact that he was hurt by the use of Wacko Jacko or Jacko on its own. It also hurts his followers and fans, and everyone who hereby signs this petition is asking that The Sun be warned on there use of that word when creating articles pertaining to Michael Jackson.

I have been reading the comments and the pain caused by these headlines is felt by so many of us who remember the person behind the name. Seeing how much this hurts others confirms why I started this effort to demand a bit of basic human decency from the press.

January 7, 2011

Seeing this momentum grow has been truly overwhelming for those of us who have felt the weight of these disrespectful headlines for so long. It feels like people finally understand that there is a real person behind the name who deserves basic decency.

HE asked them to stop. That should be enough for any decent journalist.
