For many years, the Southern Tier Homebuilders and Remodelers Association (STHBRA) has been overwhelmed with complaints from Broome County homeowners victimized by irreputable contractors. STHBRA felt it was time to take action.
Our studies revealed that the major contributor to the bad contractor problem is the "underground economy" Please visit this link for more information.
Due to deficiencies in NY State law, many NY State counties have created legislation to require contractors to be licensed or registered. We recommend that local officials adopt a contractor registration law proposed by the STHBRA which is modeled after similar NY County law..

NEED TO CHARGE THESE CONTRACTORS AS A CRIME UNDER THE NY PENAL CODE 145
I am hesitant to hire a contractor as I had a bad experience with one who remodeled my kitchen. So, now I haven't continued having my home remodeling projects done --- DON'T KNOW WHO TO TRUST!

Window World is not licensed in NYS, They are using a Penna License # and workers from Allentown, PA. They are taking jobs away from NY workers. Code enforcement refuses to do anything.
