The government finally conceded and moved to end the commercial seal hunt for good. Seeing these creatures protected at last brings me more peace than I can put into words. Thank you for staying by my side until we forced them to stop this cruelty.
We would like to see the Canadian Government come out and admit, that killing of seals is cruelty to animals, barbaric in nature, and nothing short of murder.
We would like to see it written into law, that the practice of sealing is prohibited, with massive fines levied and jail times laid to those who will break the law.
A law with teeth to protect these creatures without legs to run, or teeth to bite.
We look forward to the day, where we wait in line, and put our money in a slot to support eco-tourism in Newfoundland to watch our seals in the wild. This is our hope for their future
We do watch, or endorse, or purchase anything to do with the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, until the Canadian Government repeals the appeal they have brought forward to the WTO (World Trade Organization).
We will not stand for this barbaric and violent death of our seals for the likes of pocket money ($500) for a handful of cavemen from Newfoundland.
Don't let Newfoundland, less than 1% of the population of this country, DISGRACE the rest of the country!
Let your voice be heard!
You have a voice, and it can be heard very easily.
I have spent my mornings reading through your messages and the sheer weight of this collective anger is exactly what keeps me focused on the goal. Protecting these animals is not just a policy issue for me because it is a moral obligation I cannot walk away from. I am currently compiling all of your feedback to present directly to those in power who refuse to acknowledge the cruelty occurring on the ice.

Seeing this momentum grow proves that people are finally waking up to the brutality happening on the ice. These animals have no way to defend themselves but your dedication gives me hope that we can bring this violence to an end.
