SOPA is going overboard and trying to kill the liberty of expression!
As long as there is no money involved, I don't know why someone would stop fanfiction and everything fan-related!!!
The writers of books, the movie-makers and producers, etc... all know about the fan works and they don't have a problem with it, so why is government having a problem!?

Why would you people deprive us of our imagination? Be glad we aren't smoking, doing drugs, drinking, etc. We aren't pirating anything. It's obvious that the creators of whatever we are writing or acting isn't us because if it was we wouldn't be doing this. Let us write to our hearts content and act till we are tired, you should be promoting this, not taking this away!

There's a difference between a correct measure and overkill.
SOPA is a little overkill, in my opinion. I'm not going to vent here, but I'll say the act is a little restrictive on freedom of speech. Fanfiction/fanart/whatever else doesn't equate to piracy.

It's not piracy if we never take credit for the things that do not belong to us. We have disclaimers - nothing is for us except the OCs. Whatever the hell their problem is completely unjustified. I'll just have to go to jail.

If this act is passed their taking away our will to freely express ourselves. Social media ant things like fanfiction and role-playing help some people convey there feeling about something anonymously why should that be taken away.
