It is our pleasure to announce that the Allen ISD School Board has listened to the concerns of its school district residents and has purchased an alternate parcel of land for the Service Center. Please reach out to the Allen ISD School Board and let them know that you appreciate their careful consideration and decision to relocate this facility.

The Allen ISD has chosen a 55 acre plot of land in southeast Allen to build a massive Service Center. The location is just west of Malone Road between Bethany and Chaparral. The location will house the entire fleet of buses for the district, function as the bus maintenance facility, house thousands of gallons of diesel fuel, and also store a large amount of the school district's food storage for cafeteria services. It will be a large industrial facility in a residential neighborhood!

Many homeowners, subdivisions, and HOAs are unaware of what the Allen ISD has planned and do not fully realize the negative impact the facility will have on their quality of life and home values. There is a proposed widening of Malone Road to accommodate an early morning exodus of buses and their return each afternoon. There is also a planned East-West road that will connect Malone to Allen Heights just south of the 55 acre tract of land. Homeowners are clearly concerned about noise, pollution, and their family's safety.

It is important that we come together and let the Allen ISD know that we are opposed to the facility and do not want it in our neighborhoods.  Please protest the building of this Service Center by signing the petition below.

There is an informative web site that has been developed to share information about this important issue facing Allen : http://www.stop-allenisdbusbarn.com/index.html. Feel free to connect with us on that site via e-mail and look for updates on important meetings, media coverage, and other ways to support this important initiative.
