In May 2023, the Township of Norwich was approached by the City of Woodstock to begin boundary adjustment discussions. The area currently being discussed represents a mixture of residential and farm properties, approximately 975 acres of land, spanning from Pattullo Avenue southward towards Old Stage Road.
The City of Woodstock states that this boundary adjustment is only looking to “move the line” to bring the proposed lands within Woodstock city limits and that this adjustment process has no impact on land use or property ownership. However, their growth and development plans state otherwise!
Looking at page 15 of their assessment (link below) this realignment of Pattullo Avenue is only necessary to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic that their industrial development plan predicts. Furthermore, they omit the fact that the construction plans they want to implement (pages 19-27) after making this boundary adjustment, will undoubtedly impact land use, as well as property ownership.
Please sign this petition and help us say no to Woodstock's annexation plans and preserve Norwich land for future generations.

The momentum we have built feels heavy but necessary. It is exhausting to fight these annexation plans every day, yet seeing how many people recognize the truth behind their development reports keeps me moving forward.

I do understand that Woodstock need land to grow but this land falls into the Norwich township area so the tax income is that the real reason behind this.
we need to keep land in our township and not use prime farmland for industrial expansion.
I live at 594679 Highway 59, within the boundary change. I am vehemently opposed to this change. We moved from Woodstock to the Township of Norwich for flexibility, affordability, and country living. The increase in taxes, being forced to go on town water and sewage would literally put a huge and unmanageable financial burden on us and our growing family. Please consider our voice and what it’s telling you! This is terrible idea!!
No one is manufacturing more high quality farmland. Oxford land is of the highest quality suitable to dairy farming. Do not waste it for manufacturing purposes.
Destruction of farmland, forest, displacement of people and wildlife and creating pollution. Nothing about this proposed annexation can be seen as positive.
I am not happy about this. Uprooting our lives. Taking our farmlands.
it doesn't all add up why does Norwich want to give up this land? vote No!

Small farmers struggle to hang on to their family farms and large farmers feed the world. It requires land…..a lot it. We belong to Norwich Township. Leave us alone. The Stage Road is a historical road with families whom have lived here for generations. We stay here for the peace and quiet and beauty. Woodstock needs to stop trying to be a big city, but more importantly stop forcing us in it. We don’t want to live there.
