I have lived near this bend in the river since 1989 and never ever swam there, nor will I ever swim there. We’ve been losing human lives in the river too long due to a lack of safety information which in this day and age is absolutely inexcusable.

It's the pump station that's sucks and traps people to drown...so sad. No one says anything about it!

Have it patrolled by life savers else close it off. How many more lives must it take before the authorities do something

As a swimming teacher this area sounds very concerning and dangerous to the public. There definitely should be signage recommending people to be very careful in this area & be fully aware of the dangers. One person drowning there is one person too many. Tragic and so preventable.

Swimming is an enjoyable pastime for many, but when it's done in the wrong spot, it leads to tragedy quickly. There have been far too many drownings in this spot. Please make the changes required to minimise risks and prevent further deaths. Any loss of life is tragic. Condolences to the families who’ve lost loved ones.
