I understand that Wightlink once asked commuters if they wanted the charter boat and the majority said no. But they haven't asked us in the 2 years I've been using Wightlink...

The charter boat was always provided but has been cut, clearly a cost saving exercise

Couldn't agree with the sentiments in this petition more. Would also like to see an improvement in the co-ordination between services between the Island line, Wightlink and mainline trains at Portsmouth Harbour.

Terrible service. About 50 people were left behind on 16 Jan after the 260 capacity was reached. Poor resilience of service, with vulnerability in the event of the sole craft having issues. With respect to their reply (included by someone earlier in these comments) of course some people with flexibility may seek to avoid the marginally slower replacement craft, but with the current situation the boarding and disembarkation take longer (especially as they now seem to allow cycles through the cabin). Team on the ground fine. At a past 'meet the managers' event I got the impression she was not listening to points raised, but thinking of her next response to tell me why I was wrong. If I was the investment company owner, I would be challenging the board - appear very short term focusses rather than building a sustainable business.

The Cat is often at capacity at rush hour, so I'm sure people are getting left to wait for an hour

I would like the charter boat back. The hourly service is a pain and a nightmare if the hover is also not running . You then have to fight for a space on the boat or face waiting another hour.

It’s ok for them sat in there cosy office and not have to worry about getting to work on time or having to get up over an hour earlier to get the cat to get to work on time and also getting home an hour later when you have had a long day at work

Given the amount of profit they make, its not unreasonable for them to have a fleet of 3 Catamarans to better manage planned and unforseen maintenance. As always its the commuters who loose out and they don't care because apparently they get more money from visitors/tourists than they do from regular travellers.

All train companies compensate passengers for delays, some starting at 15 minutes. There should be a similar scheme in place for the ferry companies to encourage them to provide a regular and reliable service all year round.

Both ferry companies are just money grabbers and need to be regulated. The services are getting worse and yet the prices go up more than inflation every year and no pay rises means I am earning less each year. I dont want to move to the mainland as I love the island life and jobs on the island dont pay well at all.

Already we've seen a gradual reduction in frequency in past years because of revised maritime and harbour regs, and now further cuts are proposed making it impossible for islanders to guarantee timely arrival for work, appointments etc.
We need a full service 10p% of the time
