Dear President Loeschke: The undersigned students would like to express their concerns about how the administration of Towson University is currently handling the situation with the so called “White Student Union”, which will be referred to as the “WSU” from this point forward. While many people would like to focus on the affiliation of “WSU” and how Towson University, this petition will address the impact that the “WSU” has had and could have on the student population at Towson University. We refer specifically to the “night patrols” that the “WSU” is actively engaged in. The very idea of these patrols has created much anxiety on our campus. Towson University has a campus which maintains the lowest crime rate in the the state university system, and now many students have expressed fear of walking on campus for night classes due to these “WSU” conducted patrols. This is unacceptable. We hereby formally request that you and the administration of Towson University to declare patrols of any kind by any unapproved student groups, clubs, organizations, etc. invalid and disallowed. While the administration has done a very good job at projecting an image of diversity and solidarity, we must also show a sign of force against this group that is perpetuating fear to the student body. The undersigned students will not accept the presence of a militant and racist group patrolling our campus. Sincerely the undersigned Towson University students,
