In the early 1980's our company Riff Raff Theatre premiered a play called 'Forlorn Point' in the Theatre Workshop in Larkins Lane, Wexford. We wrote it about a family forced to live in a tent because of local authority brutality in County Wexford. (Forcing a family away from housing is brutality, plain and simple). That family was housed shortly after. Our first full-house audiences were delegates attending the annual Aontas Conference (in the Talbot Hotel that year). How shocking if we were to have to reproduce this play to shame a local authority into behaving like humans THIRTY YEARS LATER? The script is on my desk in front of me. Casting on Monday if this utter nonsense continues - and we'll be in the paper every week going through the nuts and bolts of every councillor who is not in full and unequivocable (that means no double-talk sly back-room double-deals behind Claire-Marie's back) support for Claire-Marie to be accommodated.
