We the undersigned firmly believe that Wetherspoons would fundamentally change the delightful nature and beauty of our ancient market town of St.Ives in Cambridgeshire. Local businesses can only suffer with the introduction of an aggressive low cost, low quality, alcohol and food outlet that could threaten their livelihoods. Our historic public houses located in beautiful listed buildings would be under threat of closure. Those in their ivory tower at Huntingdonshire District Council's Planning Committee must be made aware of local people's disquiet. Only real lunatics would even consider such a devastating proposal.
