The counselling services provided by the NHS at Weston Favell Health Centre, Northampton is coming to an end due to commissioners feeling that there is no longer a need to fund such a service.

It is felt that the commissioners have failed to understand the need and importance of this service in the Eastern district. This is a much needed service in this area and the help and support people need from this service is highly important.

The counselling service here has been running for an estimated 20 years with the dedication and commitment from qualified councellors who have delivered consistently to help improve and change many peoples lives for the better.

These councellors have helped people including Adolescents, young adults and theelderly. They help people deal with issues such as bereavement, anger management, stress and anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, domestic abuse, child abuse, bullying, pre/post natal depression and many many more.

This service being put to an end will result in hundreds of people not being seen to for longer periods of time due to waiting lists increasing. This in effect could potentially make the situation worse for the distressed/troubled individual as they are not getting the help needed promptly.
