Stop Walmart in Boulder

I request that the Boulder City Council take the following actions to preserve the economic and moral character of Boulder by (1) Implementing emergency legislation that creates a process whereby the City Council can exercise its power of Discretionary Review over the approval of Business Licenses for commercial developments at or larger than 20,000 square feet, (2) putting an immediate hold any pending grocery store developments at or larger than 20,000 square feet, (3) amending the City of Boulder's Revised Code to require anyone seeking to operate a business in Boulder NOT be approved if they are currently or previously fined for violating US child labor laws, under investigation by the US Justice Department, under investigation for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, or not utilizing fair trade best practices.
