Rape victims do not cause rape, rapists do. We live in a world where victims of rape are constantly told that it is their fault; That how they dress, how much alcohol they consume, and the general way they are acting is somehow "asking for it".

High school students are now using rape as a synonym for defeated.
Ex: "We raped that team last night!"
Because we are never fully aware of who is sitting around us, this phrase can transport a rape victim back to their traumatic event. Furthermore, when a rapist hears this phrase, they are validated because the context of "raping a team last night" is a good thing.

High Schools, Colleges, and Work places need to start teaching their students/employees about consent (yes means yes, no means no) and the many different forms of rape (it's not just violent, and is often done by someone the rape victim knows).

Victim Blaming needs to be stopped because the only person that should be blamed is the rapist.
