A ban on vaping is in opposition with public health principles and the simple freedom to access an healthier lifestyle for [would be/ex] smokers instead of tobacco smoking.
And as a potential tourist I would not include Mauritius in my destinations list if vaping is banned.

I lived in Sweden for a few months and have been able to vape since there's no ban there. I was able to immediately stop smoking and I am more healthy than ever before.

Clearly the government is only concerned with the decreased revenue it is getting from taxation on cigarettes as more people move to vaping. Greedy government with no concern for people's health.

i've beep smoking cigs from the age of 12 and by the age of 24 i was smoking a packet er day.. While living abroad, i learned about ecigs, was vaping on and off off those small cigarette like ones. 2 years ago, though, i started vaping on a mod. that changed my life totally.. no more restlessness, no more dyspnea, no more coughing and phlegm accumulation, And the best thing, i can run kilometers straight without breaking a sweat. while i was on a packet per day, i couldnt even run 100 meters. i feel healthy like never before. Its sad that mauritius wants to ban cigarettes on a basis " because its unhealthy" since cigarettes contain 4000 toxins including cyanide compounds, while ecigs have none, formaldehyde only pccurs if the liquid is burnt, not vaporised.. diacetyl has been removed from all international brands of eliquids. still, the governement wants to list it as more dangerous than cigarettes, i mean .. where is the logic ? seriously? how about start from putting a ban on cigarettes import,selling and consumption. Or is it the tax generated from it i.e Rs1.8B/annum ?
Let people live, ban cigarettes, actually, promote vaping.
