The parking situation goes from bad to words. UTC needs to stop treating students like profit centers. They need to stop spending MILLIONS on new buildings when the parking situation is critical.

It is absurd that UTC is able to capitalize so much on this warped system! The school is clearly accepting more students than it is able to accommodate, which is jeapordizing the well-being of it's current students. The problem needs to be addressed NOW.

The first 2 weeks of school I got 3 tickets. I'm glad I'm graduating in December because parking is ridiculous!!

I shouldn't have to decide whether or not I want to arrive 30mins-60mins early for class to search for a parking spot,walk a mile, or receive a $20 ticket just to come to class for 2 hours or less. Shouldn't have to worry about not being able to get my transcript or final grades because of taxes

There is something severely wrong with the parking system. With such a lack of parking compared to the normal, we should at least have some sort of discount on our pass when the shortage of spaces is causing parking tickets left and right from creating a spot or having to park in a reserved lot in order to make it to class. This is ripping off so many students who have no choice and is not fair to our college-student budgets. It's riduculous.

UTC definitely over sells the parking....INTENTIONALLY! Why should people pay for a spot that they never get in the first place?! Why can't parking be covered in the high tuition anyway? They keep wanting more and more students to come to UTC yet they provide no additional parking. What sense does that make? Taking money from students and not giving them anything in return but parking tickets and holds on their accounts for an issue that isn't theirs.

I paid for a reserved spot in the parking garage as it is my first semester living off campus (much cheaper than on campus!). Well, 90% of the time I can't find a spot even when I arrive at 8:30 am. And the general lots? Forget it. I searched for 2 hours one day circling lots trying to get a spot. I missed a class I had arrived 2.5 hours prior to in order to find a spot. That was such a waste of my time and money.

UTC Parking is absolutely ridiculous. I live on campus and I can never find an open spot that's close to where my dorm is. Also, I have a general parking pass it limits my chances of getting a decent spot. The reserved lots near my dorm almost always have empty spots. But wait, I can't park there because apparently all the reserved passes are sold! Please fix this problem. I shouldn't have to park a mile away from my dorm especially when I have to walk back alone at night.

Why is it that I paid $300 for a lot, and the pathway from that lot to my dorm building isn't even lit at night so I can feel safe walking from my car at night??

I should not be given parking tickets to park a motorcycle where the rules and regulations for parking at my university clearly outline I am permitted to park, or have to pay for a pass at an institution I already pay over $8,000 a year to attend.
