Stop Employers from using credit ratings as a hiring tool
Many employers are using credit history as a hiring tool. This is a form of discrimination and systematic way to prevent individuals from obtaining gainful employment. Employment will assist individuals in earning money to pay bills in order to improve the very credit rating that is being used against them. Many employers use the following reasoning for using credit history: (it makes a value judgment) determines credit worthiness, shows if employee is irresponsible, etc.
It is a fact that employees with "good" credit have been convicted of stealing, extortion, bribery, corruption, etc. Moreover, employers should rely on work history, criminal background and/or a references check if they are so concerned. Most employers also have a probationary period to judge if an employee is up to par.
Sign the position today in order to join the fight in making it illegal for employers to use credit history as a hiring tool. It is a form of discrimination.
