Stop Unfair Taxation of Nanoose Bay Property Owners!

This project has no value to Nanoose Bay residents and thus should not affect our taxes in the least.

Too far away! Will not use it.

I can’t understand how we could ever be taxed for a facility that is in another town and not even remotely convenient for people from Nanoose to use. I wonder what the people of Qualicum Bay would say if they were going to be taxed for a mega million dollar facility in Nanoose.

I am a Nanoose Bay property owner and do not agree that we should have to pay for Ravensong Pool. I would never use it as it is too far away from my home.

Pool is too far away and not a facility I have ever used. Have lived here for 20 years.

I have lived in Nanoose over 10 years and never used that pool. Paying Taxes for it makes no sense to me.

I have never used, nor will I ever in the future use the Ravensong pool, and neither do almost all of the residence and find it unfair to expect me and others living in this community to pay anything toward its upkeep or any renovation, I do not agree to any tax participation for Ravensong Pool, or being a forced participant in Bylaw 899.02.

Thi is purely a tax subsidy effort imposed on Nanoose Property owners to support Ravensong facilities over 90 % of these owners do not urilize the Ravensong facility.

No to the additional taxes for a pool that is to far away to be useful. No to a pool we subsidize for others now that they don't want to pay for it. We were not considered back then but now you want our tax dollars to assist. No way.

Distance to pools in Nanaimo are still closer. What happened to charging Nanoose residents a surcharge for using the Ravensong pool when it was first opened

I am adamantly opposed to the formula used to implement this tax. Just not fair to Nanoose residents who are so far distant from Ravensong.

Too far and out of the way to use. It would make sense if it was central to the population of all of district 69 Never used it since it was built because of where it's situated.

We don't use the pool. We have the ocean.

Shove bill 899.02 where the Sun don’t shine. No to bill 899.02 Ravensong pool is too far from us fuel costs would be too high. If I decide to use it I will pay at the door.

Nanoose Bay is not a component of Qualicum Beach. The pool will benefit people living in the Qualicum Beach area, not Nanoose Bay.

As is evident from its history, and in particular the fact that Area E did not participate in the original referendum, Ravensong Pool was not intended to be a “regional” facility. It is entirely unfair and inequitable to now impose taxation for the pool’s operation and renovation on the residents of Area E. A fairer model would be one that is focused on usage (rather than assessed value and population).
