Stop Unfair Taxation of Nanoose Bay Property Owners!

We do not, as property owners in Nanoose Bay, agree to any tax participation for Ravensong Pool. We strongly oppose being forced participants in Bylaw 899.02. and believe the bylaw should be rescinded.

I do not agree to any tax participation for Ravensong Pool, or being a forced participant in Bylaw 899.02. If you are a Nanoose Bay property owner please sign this petition telling the RDN to rescind Bylaw 899.02. NO MORE TAX INCREASES !

I vehemently oppose this very unjust Bylaw 899.02. We have a pool right here in Fairwinds! Why would we use Ravensong Pool in Qualicum Beach some 30 kms away. We have never used Ravensong nor will we ever.

I strongly oppose the expansion of the Ravensong pool facility. Why do we not have a referendum for area E to see if the majority of its residents are in favour. It's the Democratic way. In any event we already have a recreational and POOL facility located in Fairwinds for our use. As well there are pool facilities at VIU which is easily reachable.

We have a pool in Fairwinds which is adequate for our needs. It does require membership however, those using a pool are very likely to have a membership for the pool & related activities Would I use a pool….of no interest to me

I strongly disagree with being taxed for the Ravensong expansion. Area E was not involved in the original process. To arbitrarily include Area E without a referendum vote for only the AREA E taxpayers to indicate their support or opposition is just plain wrong. This is clearly intended to pick the pockets of taxpayers who have no interest in funding something so remote from them.

This is an unfair tax and citizens were not informed.

As Nanoose Bay property owners we do not agree to any tax participation for Ravensong Pool, or being a forced participant in Bylaw 899.02. We request the RDN to rescind Bylaw 899.02. We find it very offensive that Nanoose Bay taxpayers are being forced to pay taxes in perpetuity for a facility they never wanted and do not use.

The Ravensong pool is not convenient to get to. I do not like the idea that Nanoose residents should be subsidizing a pool in Qualicum Beach. Parksville would be a better option, and it is certainly needed there. No to Nanoose Bay residents contributing to Qualicum Beach aquatic center.

The Ravensong Pool was built with the understanding that Nanoose would not participate in the funding; to come back now is underhanded and nothing less than a money grab.

It’s astonishing in our ‘democracy’ that the people whose salaries we already pay for from our taxes, feel free to make decisions on our behalf. I’d like to amend their salaries to cover the increased tax burden.

Don't tax me for something I can't vote for. They tried this in Boston and they wound up havint a tea party

There is no justification for the year-after-year increase and then slot Nanoose into Qualicum's pool renovation? I am never going to drive 30-35 mins to go for a swim. I say NO to this taxing the Nanoose community.

I do not nor will I use the Ravensong Pool so do not feel that I should contribute to development or upkeep. There are facilities far closer. My property taxes have already risen unfairly .

I go to the Fairwinds pool and do not wish to drive 40 mins to the Ravensong Pool. Thus I do not wish my taxes to go to the upkeep of said facility

No to tax increase for Qualicum Pool.

I do not nor will I use the Ravensong Pool so do not feel that I should contribute to it's expansion.
