Stop Transporters getting fined for illegal immigrant's
Road transport companies and their drivers must secure vehicles coming into the UK to stop ‘clandestine entrants’. A clandestine entrant is a person who hides in or on a vehicle to avoid going through UK border control.
If they don’t secure their vehicle, and there found carrying clandestine entrants into the UK, they get a fine (also known as a ‘civil penalty’).
They face a fine of up to £2,000 for each clandestine entrant you carry. The vehicle’s driver, owner or hirer can be fined.
The law applies to all arrivals into the UK, including from European sea ports and on the Eurotunnel Shuttle.
Road transport companies and their drivers must secure vehicles coming into the UK but we need to petition to get a change of policy on the fines incurred due to illegal immigrants infiltrating the vehicles, the transporters shouldn't be penalised for the illegal activities of Asylum seekers.
The Petition is to campaign against the heavy fining of UK Taxpaying Transport companies who are unfairly being penalised because of the illegal activities of these asylum seekers.
