PLEASE READ - Iain McLaggan has been wrongfully accused of Rape and thanks to our juducial system has been sentenced to 8 years in prison. Due to a horrific and unjustified, obviously emotional and unproffesional prosecutor who argued what could only be a he said / she said case infront of a judge who seemed to have no actual interest in the art of justice that one would hope for in a country in s
uch need of real integrity. A judge who passed a judgement that Iains legal team (a legal team that have fought beyond their call of duty with incredible integrity and who have themselves been horrified by this case) have found 122 irregularities within and seemed to hold no thought to Iains side of the story. The irregularities have been put forward in a 33 page document for application to appeal this horrific conviction (most cases are approximately 2 - 3 pages in legth) and this judge has chosen to reserve his answer until he sees fit and so for the meantime Iain sits as one of a horrific number of people in a place where our so called "fair" society tends to forget about one.

I was a witness of this unthinkable handling of his case last week and to explain the prosecutions argument as a soap opera is an understatement to say the least!

I urge all people who know Iain McLaggan and therefore obviously believe in his innocence to band together here to show support for a man who even in these horrific circumstances has completely surpassed what one would expect of a man in his situation and is finding the personal strength and strength of character to go beyond himself to try to help others even where he sits.

The support for Iain has been so strong already and although we are sitting in a position where we battle to have faith in our own judicial system, a system that is supposed to keep us safe, (and yes that even means keeping our men safe and not just jumping to conclusions, even though we know the rape situation our country is so rightfully fighting. Our men too need to be fought for.) we can only hope that if we all raise our voices loud enough someone will hear. So please sign up here together as you wish and hopefully eventually justice will prevail.
