The Dolben Companies, once they have removed 416,000 cubic yards of rock, with 32,000 truck trips past two elementary schools and a day care center, will build affordable housing. We estimate that they will then sell this material for $6.2 million.
The developer told the Woburn Board of Appeals that the total amount of rock removed for the entire Route 3 widening was about 500,000 cubic yards...over twenty miles miles and nowhere near any houses, children or schools.
We all stand in support of affordable housing for the City of Woburn, but the significant risks of this project far outweigh the need for affordable housing at this site.
Current Mayor Scott Galvin, Former Mayor Tom McLaughlin Alderman Raymond, Gately and DiTucci and State Representatives JIm Dwyer and Jim Miceli all have expressed their opposition or concerns about this massive quarry project.
Please sign our petition so that we can show the elected officials and the developer that we are united in our fight to choose greed over the right thing to do.

I am still honestly stunned by how many people have reached out to share their own worries about the trucks and the noise. These stories you are sending me are providing so much fuel for the conversations I am having with local leaders behind the scenes. None of this would be happening without the time you took to get involved.

I stand with the Fionda Family as well as all of the other concerned people of Woburn. Please don’t make the same mistake that the people of Quincy have made. Thank You
That this even has to be protested is shameful - the neighborhood can't support more people and the resulting traffic; to endanger the current residents in the process is the height of irresponsibility. The City Council needs to listen to its constituents for a change and NOT ALLOW this.
This project is to much, the roads can not handle the current traffic nevermind 32,000 truckloads of material going through Woburn and Wilmington. Not to mention Olin superfund site is just down the street and the blasting that would be done could further spread the plume!
Traffic is Atrocious already and I don’t want my property effected by the blasting plus the kids will be outside for recess at the Altavesta all those cancer-causing chemicals from blasting will be floating in the air getting put into our kids lungs bad idea all the way around
I am a resident of South Wilmington and have significant concerns about this project

Traffic is already crazy. Plus that hill is a home for many animals, don’t ruin their home and our city!
