I live in
CB IA and this is what i have heard if this street car is approved in Omaha then our mayor plans to ask for an obscene amount of money to build a bridge next to our walk across bridge for the street car and run it down 1st avenue. the second thing he plans to do is raise property taxes over here so high that it will force all property owners to sell and move. His next plan buy up the land or have his investors buy up the land. build high rise apartment buildings every where . End story we the people will pay rent and work in Nebraska.

The streetcar project is a waste of the taxpayers' dollars. So much more could be done for such an enormous amount of money. This project will only sink Omaha and its resident taxpayers into a big hole financially. STOP THE STREETCAR!

Us seniors don’t have extra money now so why would we want to pay for this it’s like we have paid for taxes for public schools we haven’t had kids in schools for years and probably 1/2 or 3/4 of school age kids live in apartments and there parents or parent don’t even Pay school taxes we home owners pay if this Mayor wants to leave this office we should have good streets they have been neglected for the past 4-5 years Lincoln streets are even very bad if they want a street care they should see if anyone really wants this if you look at other cities most people don’t want them. So if I was councilman maybe running for Mayor I would stop the street car now.

Use that money to repair the 300 Mike’s of unimproved streets in Omaha that more citizens use than will use the streetcar

We have plenty of underutilized buses that can be used. Raise utility rates to help pay for a new streetcar that we don't need? Sounds like a vanity project.
I would think that spending public money on a cosmetic addition would be up for a vote.
Ditto what Chris P says
Lets use that money to find a solution to the homeless problem

Don't waste our taxpayer dollars on a project which will be insanely over budget, give kickbacks to friends and families of corrupt politicians and divert resources from something everyone uses, i.e. roads, which are in horrible condition.
