I love Omaha and our mayor but if this is great idea let private enterprise build it. Charge a dollar. Should only take 50 years to pay for it.

Experts who deal in this say it will not be sustainable and not counting the disruption this project will cause to Omaha residents. This should have been to a vote and they know it would not have been approved. The only ones who think it would work are the local politicians and companies that would benefit from it.

You have to have a verifiable plan/push to fix our crumbling streets, before you pursue "optional", expensive projects. Who made Jay Noddle in charge of the city and so many city developments?!? Was he elected....I missed that vote. I use to have great pride in having MOO from our city. What they have done in this back door deal stinks so bad.....

This expense is idiotic. If you want, get 5-6 vehicles like Ollie The Trolley for 1/100 of the cost. There is NO amount of years for a break-even on this expense. Gene Kathol

I really don't want this streetcar in Omaha. Can't we do something more helpful like lower our sewer taxes?! Or put in a bullet train from Omaha to Lincoln for game days.

This is stupid, and we know we're gonna have to pay for it somehow. All this would do is benefit tourism, which I know is important... maybe instead of destroying our library, because there were homeless people there, so you could build a giant skyscraper for a company that already has a skyscraper, let Mutual of Omaha pay for it.

As a young person, a streetcar is not a reason to stay in omaha or move to Omaha. The reason young people are leaving is taxes and poor public education if you want to raise a family. The entire project is essentially a kick back to developers. Lastly the cost of the streetcar is supposed to be covered but this tax on the increased property values of the area around the streetcar. Number one it is important to keep in mind who set the valuation of the property (the city). Second it is important to note this diverts property taxes to pay for the streetcar and TIF when the funds should be going to the schools so if current taxes on the property go from $10000 per year to $20000 per year $20000 would go toward the streetcar and schools would lose $10000 of current funding.
