Stop the unnecessary Uniform changes at Plume Maldons Community Academy

I think it should stay the same as it is a symbol of maldon

The uniform has been the same for so many generations and it would ruin it to change it

It appears to be change for change sake. If compliance of current uniform is being ignored enforce policy not a style/colour change. As a parent of a yr 7 plumevstudent I went to great lengths to ensure we got it right in September. Concerned new supplier will not cater for all shapes of sizes for the girls, not to mention cost to replace a perfectly good uniform. Disagree that we should be forced to use one supplier.

Keep the uniform the same most parents won't beable to afford the change of colour and black looks so much smarter!!!

I can't afford a new skirt!!! I've already bought my skirt for next year!

Me and pretty much all of my friends (including girls) don't want the uniform to change. It is unnecessary

Unnecessary expense at a time of frugality. Also illegal as some items only available from the school approved shop.

In order for student's performance to increase plume must stop enforcing the idea that uniform and appearance affects achievement and focus on the actual teaching

plume has no consideration for low income parents. i understand their need for new uniform however introduce it from September with new year sevens as it will be a waste of resources and money if the current uniform goes to waste.

What are tall children expect to wear , my son is 13 and wears men's trousers for the leg length. Your uniform supplier only caters for regular size children. How will you cater for his uniform needs when he is in yrs 9,10,11 + ??? Your supplier doesn't cater for a wide range of sizes !

uniform doesn't need to change as we only have less than a year of wearing it.

Keep the uniform the colour we already have. I have already purchased many pairs of black trousers for both of my sons for every forthcoming year up to age 16, am I now supposed to discard all of these and purchase them all over again in a different colour? There is no logic to this whatsoever.

Parents on low incomes will struggle to afford these changes. There is no competitive pricing as it is for one supplier. My elder child enters year 9 in September and my younger will be starting year 7, , therefore uniform from 2 years cannot be reused. A badly thought out change.

I have twins and enough BLACK Trousers to see them through the week. Are you going to reimburse me the costs I've already spent on school trousers!??

Disappointed that once again 'Plume' Motto - the individual is our central concern - have forgotten all about individual choice in the hunt for more money. one size does not fit all. Parents should have choice of where they buy uniform trousers/shirts etc., the farce getting items last year from uniform shop was ridiculous then trying to get refunds and postage fees returned. perhaps the parents need to stand together and refuse to buy them from uniform shop until plume backs down

It won't match the rest of the uniform and needs to change

Just keep the uniform as it is for year 9's, 10's and 11's! It creates a divide between year groups and discourages equality as well as being an unreasonable price. If the school has blown its budget on unreasonable and ridiculous school trips they cannot expect parents to keep on buying a new uniform every year.
