Dear Not a South Park NIMBY,
Thank you for your opinion. Our group believes in open dialogue and complete transparency, so we are happy to leave your comment up. However, we encourage you to look at our argument and please do your homework before commenting. The Teton County School District has a policy that they will not bus kids in the Cottonwood, Blair Apartments, Ellingwood Flats, and Indian Trails neighborhoods to those schools in this South Park school district. So, the kids are left to walk, ride their bikes, or have a parent drive them. Boom, safety has been compromised. Asking children to cross roads with 13,000 vehicles per day is the same as asking them to cross Interstate-80 on foot or bike (same amount of VPD by the way).
Again, we want to hear dissenting opinions and encourage you to present your NIMBY comments to the Commissioners and the Town Council at the Joint Information Meeting (JIM) scheduled for 6 July at 2:00pm so they get on public record. It is clear your opinions are strong, so please voice them to the people voting. If you are not comfortable appearing in public with your comments, feel free to write in and comment. I am in favor of the connector.
Extending Tribal Trails is appropriate and is the right thing to do. For those of you who live and own homes in Tribal Trails, I'm sure someone told you that the road was a condition of approval for the subdivision. If you don't want the road, then please remove your homes from the subdivision.
You talk of child safety and traffic? Seriously? Start a campaign to help families discover that there is a public school bus system that will deliver them from their homes to their schools. Boom and you eliminate 20% of traffic in the valley while school is in session.
I'm dumfounded in regards to your NIMBY attitudes. You all look like complete fools. Get over yourselves.
Teton County has a total lack of roadway redundancy. A tribal trails connector is an absolute necessity.

I consider this intrusion of traffic, noise, and danger a disturbance of the peace issue and recommend that the law prosecute it as such.

No Connector! Instead of building more roads more emphasis should be placed on alternative transportation. Make it quicker and easier for folks to ride public transport, carpool, and ride bikes. Don’t bring traffic into our school zone areas.

IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME. Do not route traffic into the middle of a quiet residential and busy school district. The Idaho to Hoback commute might be shortened by 5 min. It is not worth it. How many people live in South Park, Indian Hills and Cottonwood? I would guess it is a large percentage of the town's population. This is the bedroom of Jackson. DON'T DO IT.

I think it's important to limit where cars go and what they potentially might run into, like a fox or a kid. I like to walk the path bc it's fairly quiet and serene even tho it's so close to town.

Routing a connector through South Park Loop Road is unacceptable based on the environmental and wildlife disturbance. Add danger to all residents and school children, and this is completely out of bounds. Don't even consider it. Backed up traffic is a great alternative when I consider the ramifications of this proposed connector. I have known about the easement for many years, but with the recent growth and schools, it would be disastrous!

Instead of running all this traffic through the already congested school zoned why don't we fix the Y? Aren't there several studies showing how a round about would vastly improve traffic? Didn't we pay for these studies? Let's look for a real solution!

Let's exhaust our options on existing roads (i.e. the "Y") before we start building new routes that will most certainly negatively impact the residents, schools and wildlife of this area.

This road will bring more traffic than expected to the area. I as well as many others frequently must walk/ride along the road due to lack of sidewalks. More traffic will make this more dangerous. More consideration needs to be taken. More studies of the effect that this amount of traffic might have need to be done.
