I am a senior graduating this year and have been a part of Smithtown XC for all 4 of my high school years. My best friends came from this team. These friendships span both schools and the thought that such an opportunity will be taken away from future generations of cross country runners deeply sickens me.

Splitting up this team into 2 breaks friendships and contradicts the true purpose of team sports which is to foster relationships which last a lifetime.

I think that the team should stay together, sports aren't just about competition, it's also about friendship and unity, do when you take that away, then it destroys relationships and unity.

Stop the split!! It's been an awesome experience for my son since freshmen year. The coach & teammates have been an inspiration. It's nice to see the two schools come together as one.

As being a part of another team combined with east and west, I strongly agree with keeping the team combined- the friendships alone that have been created are too important to be split up
