I've been to Siargao and was in love with the Island. My friend who lives there once told me that their hospital has a poor facilities. When there is a patient who's in a critical condition they have to cross the sea just to bring the patient to Surigao City. So, instead of building international airport or a bridge why don't the gov't focus first on the people's health? Enriching the facilities of the hospital/s so that they wont cross from Siargao island just to bring the patient to Surigao who has somehow, has a better facilities.

This magical slice of paradise should be preserved not exploited. Invest in a hospital, a recycling centre or a clean waste treatment centre before even thinking of an international airport. Respect its beauty and it's people.

The island is one of my goal in the near future, and there is also a lot of people who is just like me. This is a pain for us, for those filipinos who loves the tropics for it is one of the most beautiful island in our country. This place is one of the beautiful natural habitat that we should preserve as it is. The island doesn't need that airport. What they need is awareness on how they protect and PRESERVE their own local culture.
