I'm not feeling this at all if anyone is even considering making a movie. About Aaliyah they should have her Mom and Brother's approval. PLEASE STOP THIS MOVIE FROM BEING MADE :(
Let Aaliyah Rest in Peace <3 <3 <3

Disrespectful! Aaliyah was my icon as a young girl. She made me feel comfortable not liking dresses and dressing like a feminine tomboy. She could roll with the boys, but never resorted to sluttiness (is that a word? should be!) We should respect her family's wishes! And I am especially appaulled at the actress. She looks NOTHING like the late icon Aaliyah. Is she even black? The fact that I even have to ask that is why she was the absolute WRONG person for the part! Aaliyah was a toasty brown African American girl not a biracial one! How do you think that feels to me, another toasty brown girl, to see some biracial looking actress play my icon?? Feels like the Zoe Saldana Nina Simone fiasco again...

This film is all about making money off of her death, if her mother and father aren't behind it why is it being done? Also, why do they have this random playing her? Can the actress at least be authentic, she was African American not mixed race are u white washing aaliyah's memory now?

It's very sad that they wouldn't allow her Mother to have any input in the making of this money nor her family. How do you tell the life story of Aaliyah and not include the people who were in her life????

As a true fan, I respected her life and she didn't share her personal or intimate life with is when she did walk the earth so why do it now. With out the family and friends it's just going to be he said she said from people that assumed the situations.. If this was with the good intentions with the family and friend then booom where's the popcorn but I will not be watching. P.s they should of had an actor that iisnt familiar with us. Aaliyah was such a kind humble quiet heart that spoke volumes just with her smile. Till not saying oh girl isn't a good act because she is but not the same spirit .

No one will be good enough to ever portray Aaliyah but at least cast someone who resembles her a little more

First off, if her FAMILY and ESTATE are against it how dare you do it. RESPECT HER. stop using the legacy of an artist or anyone for your finacial gain. Secomd, All though Zendaya is an adorable kid she is FAR oh so FAR from Baby Girl. if you're going to even do this despite the lack og support from the Haughton family AT LEAST have the decency to cast an actress that can and will honor Aaliyah and do her true and much deserved justice. this woman was a force. at least find someone who can at least meet Aaliyah half way. enough said.i am and always will be a true to my soul, die hard passionate AALIYAH fan. I love and miss you dearly Baby Girl.

As an Aaliyah fan I'm beyond outraged with the decision to cast Zendaya as Aaliyah. Although she may be a very talented and competent actress, she (in my opinion) lacks the star quality Aaliyah exuded. Also if going forward with the movie is against the Haughton's wishes then I vote for the movie to be canned immediately. It's disrespectful to Aaliyah, her family, friends, fans and overall legacy.

I loved her soooo much, she was my idol growing up and her music changed so many lives, its with great sadness that I sign this petition because understanding that her family had no say in this movie is just flat out wrong. Lifetime, should have at least hashed out the facts and storyline with the family and had them ok it first hand. I'm a mother and I would hate for someone to create this animosity and biopic out of my child and her death to make a few bucks and ratings for a network. This is private for her, if her family wanted a movie done they would have done it. Respect and move on.
