No only is it disrespectful because It's against the family's wishes but the person cast looks NOTHING like Aaliyah. She doesn't possess her charisma, grace or sexiness.

This is down right WRONG! Not only is Lifetime going along with the movie without ANY Haughton approval, the actress signed to the movie even RE-RECORDED 4 of Aaliyah's songs for the film. smh

Also a choice that would be slightly better(I'm not saying a whole lot) is Keshia Chante. If they are worried about singing, do what they did with that TLC movie where they lipped the words and just hire Aaliyah's choreographer when it comes to dancing, if they ever do the movie the RIGHT WAY.

A whole lot of thongs are just wrong with the movies. Real Aaliyah fans wouldn't support this without her family's permission. Second, Why does the uncle want this movie out so Much anyway? Then Zendaya, yeah she can sing ( not like Aaliyah)and she can dance ( just like a whole bunch of girls).But if the casting director wants to talk well that's her inspiration how does that help her??? Plus Zendaya doesn't have that nice, sweet soft spoken voice like Aaliyah.
